Ivana Trump, who was Donald Trump’s first wife and the mother of his three oldest children, died Thursday at age 73, the former president said.
Ivana Trump “died at her home in New York City,” Donald Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social, but he didn’t say why she died.
Donald Trump, 76, said, “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman who lived a great and inspiring life.”
“Her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, were the things she was most proud of. We were all so proud of her, just as she was of them. Ivana, rest in peace! “Adding to the post, he said.
Ivana Trump was a model who grew up in communist Czechoslovakia. In 1977, she married Donald Trump, just starting in the real estate business.
Donald Jr., their first child, was born in the fall of that year. Eric came after Ivanka in 1984. Ivanka was born in 1981.
On Thursday, Eric Trump wrote a tribute to his mother on Instagram. She was also a good skier when she was a child in Eastern Europe.
The post said, “Our mother was an amazing woman. She was a business powerhouse, a world-class athlete, a stunning beauty, and a loving mother and friend.”
“Her mother, three children, and ten grandchildren will miss her very much,” he said.
During the 1980s, the Trumps were one of the most famous couples in New York, and their flashy lifestyle was a good example of the decade’s excesses.
As Donald Trump’s real estate business grew, so did their power and fame. Ivana Trump played several important roles in the business.
Their high-profile breakup, which was said to be partly caused by Donald Trump’s affair with actress Marla Maples, gave New York’s tabloids a lot to talk about.
In the early 1990s, Donald Trump and Ivana Trump divorced, and in 1993, the future president married Marla Maples.
Ivana Trump went on to have her own successful business career. She made clothes, jewelry, and beauty products, and she also wrote several books.
The marriage between Trump and Maples lasted until 1999. Melania Trump is his third wife and the one he is with now.
