Humans will never match the animal kingdom in terms of warm friendships. Wildlife often crosses boundaries and forms surprising inter-species connections. However, There are so many of these stories are even more endearing. This time it’s a baby cow and an old tortoise that go viral!
Leonardo and Simon are two innocent souls rescued by the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) just in time. Leonardo, an African spurred turtle arrived first, rescued from a Bangkok zoo.

Simon, on the other hand, was rescued years later. The sad newborn cow lost a limb in a horrific accident, and generous individuals saved him from a slaughterhouse. The crew looked for a spot to move him in on the way back, somewhere more comfortable and safe.

“We chose to temporarily put him in a big open field enclosure within the WFFT Rescue Center,” WFFT said. He was to be moved onto a field with two other rescued cows.

Relocating Simon became impossible after he found solace in an odd companion. He fell in love with Leonardo at first sight. The two rescued animals seemed made for each other, and their early bonding startled even the center’s personnel.

Simon, the cow, has developed a strong friendship with the giant turtle, Leonardo, ยป WFFT said. “They typically follow each other around, eat and sleep together. We wish them luck in their unconventional friendship.”

Leonardo and Simon are inseparable, and the sweet photos demonstrate how close they are! It’s good to watch animals of different species get along like these two!
