A lovely video shows a majestic lion getting down on all fours to meet his cub for the first time.

Most of the time, a lion doesn’t get along with its new born babies. He can’t wait to meet his new child for the very first time, though. Filmed at the Denver Zoo, the beautiful video was shared on Facebook and made people cry all over the world.

A 12lb cub was born at the zoo on July 31. Since then, he has only been with his mother. They thought it was time for the new animal at the zoo to meet his family. And when he met his two-year-old father for the first time, he won over the web.

It looks like the little lion will soon be ready to make his first public appearance.

In the last few months, he’s been getting to know his parents as well as his half-sister at Denver Zoo’s Predator Ridge. Soon, he’ll be making his public debut in one of the outdoor habitats. Lion cub: “He’s all the things you’d expect from a young lion.”

He doesn’t have a name yet, but people in Denver know who his parents are. There are people who work at the zoo who can help them come up with a name. There are three options: Meru, which is the name of a Tanzanian mountain, Moremi, which is the name of a Botswana game reserve, and Tatu, which is the Swahili word for three. The lioness has three cubs, so Tatu is the word for three. The zoo wants everyone to vote and donate $1 to the three finalists who have made it through.
