A Pitbull left alone in a parking lot

Bluebelle, a senior pitbull, was abandoned in an Austin parking lot. Her dog bed was all she had between her and the sweltering pavement while she waited for attention.

When the animal control officers finally came to get her, she smiled and happily accepted their treats.

“You could tell how grateful Bluebelle was to be saved and brought to the shelter,” said Stephanie McCutcheon, marketing and volunteer coordinator at Austin Animal Center. Bluebelle drank a lot of water and slept a lot the first several days in her air-conditioned bed. “

This 9-year-old bulldog with the nicest disposition is getting all the care she needs at the Austin Animal Center. When the employees found her, she had lost fur and raw red skin due to demodex mange, a skin mite infestation. Her conjunctivitis in both eyes is being treated. But this doesn’t dampen the senior dog’s spirit.

“Despite her health challenges, she is happy,” McCutcheon added. She has a beautiful little smile and a spring in her step. Our amazing animal care workers and vets have been closely monitoring her. ” Bluebelle’s winning personality helped her find a foster family eager to take her in.

“Despite her appearance, her heart is still full and she is quite friendly to humans,” McCutcheon said in her interview. Bluebelle recently had a meet-and-greet with a foster family and their dog, which went well.

After her health issues are resolved, this sweet-tempered pitbull starts looking for a forever home and a family that will love and cherish her forever. Her beloved dog bed and a comfy place to relax and rest are all she needs till that day arrives.
