Amber Heard and Jason Momoa: Rumor Confirmed

A rumor about Jason Momoa and Amber Heard has been confirmed as true. The two actors, aged 44 and 38 respectively, played lead roles in DC’s blockbuster film “Aquaman” and its sequel, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” However, Heard’s presence in the sequel was notably reduced compared to the original film, signaling her gradual step away from the Hollywood spotlight.

Before the release of the second “Aquaman” movie, whispers of a romantic relationship between Heard and Momoa swirled around. These rumors have now been substantiated, as a film producer recently shed more light on the situation.

In recent years, Heard has largely retreated from public life, with reports suggesting she has stepped away from her Hollywood career. According to a source from People magazine, the actress is currently focused on raising her daughter, Oonagh, who was born in 2021.

“She spends her days with her daughter,” the source shared. “They enjoy walks, trips to the park, and family time. Amber is an amazing mother.”

This shift in focus comes after a turbulent period in Heard’s life, including a highly publicized legal battle with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, who is renowned for his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Following the trial, Heard’s interest in the entertainment industry appears to have waned, as she dedicates herself to motherhood.

Heard was sued by Depp for defamation in 2018 after she penned an op-ed for The Washington Post about domestic abuse. Although Depp wasn’t named in the article, his lawyers argued that it alluded to previous accusations Heard had made against him. The trial saw both parties levying severe allegations against one another.

During the trial, Heard testified that her role in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” was significantly diminished due to her ongoing legal battles with Depp. She claimed she had to fight “really hard to stay in the movie” and noticed that her scenes were “taken away” in the newer versions of the script. “They just took out a bunch,” she remarked.

However, Depp’s legal team offered a different perspective on why Heard’s screen time was reduced. Walter Hamada, the executive producer of “Aquaman,” stated in a video deposition that Heard’s role was not reduced intentionally, as her character was always intended to have a smaller presence in the sequel. He explained that there were discussions about recasting Heard due to her lack of chemistry with Momoa.

“They didn’t really have a lot of chemistry together,” Hamada admitted. “The truth is, it happens a lot in movies for two main characters to not get along. Making their on-screen relationship believable took a lot of effort.”

James Wan, the film’s director, echoed Hamada’s comments, telling Entertainment Weekly that Heard’s reduced role was always part of the plan. “From the beginning, I told everyone that the first ‘Aquaman’ was about Arthur and Mera’s journey, while the second film was always intended to focus on Arthur and Orm. The first one was a love story action-adventure movie, and the second one is a buddy movie action-adventure movie. That’s all there is to it,” Wan explained.

Despite the rumors surrounding her role, Heard did appear in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” albeit in a significantly smaller capacity than before.
