Bruce Willis is already well-known. Most of us grew up watching him on TV in action films that we couldn’t get enough of. Bruce’s close family recently told the public that he is retiring because of a condition called aphasia. We wanted to learn more about the actor’s amazing career and life story, so we talked to some of his friends and family.

Bright Side thinks that stars are a priceless part of our lives and that the impact they have on us is incalculable. Let’s find out some interesting things about Bruce Willis, the man behind the name.

Bruce Willis is in everything from TV shows to big movies.

Bruce Willis, who is 67 years old, was born in West Germany in 1955. He is an American actor, singer, and film director who has become a pop culture icon.

In the 1970s, Bruce started playing off-Broadway, and in 1985, the TV show Moonlighting made him famous. After more than 30 years, he has been in about 100 films and won many prizes.

During the actor’s time on Moonlighting, the first Die Hard movie came out in 1988, and the last one came out in 2013. Bruce Willis was in all five of them. Bruce Willis will always be known as John McClane, the smart detective who saves the day. We won’t tell you how it ends, though, because now is the best time to rewatch your old favourites.

Interesting things about Bruce Willis that we didn’t know

Bruce stuttered for the first 20 years of his life. He said, “I could hardly talk. To finish a sentence, it took me 3 minutes. It was heartbreaking for anyone who wanted to say something or be heard but couldn’t. It was very scary. But when I played a different role in a play, I stopped stuttering. It was wonderful.”

Bruce Willis is also a singer. His first album, The Return of Bruno, came out in 1987, and two more followed in 1989 and 2001. The lead song, “Respect Yourself,” was a hit.

Willis changed Hollywood for good. In 1987, when Tom Cruise and Michael J. Fox were making around $3 million per movie, 20th Century Fox agreed to pay Willis $5 million for his first part in Die Hard. Other stars took notice, and “the day after I signed the deal, every actor in Hollywood’s salary went up by $5 million,” Willis said.

Private life

Bruce Willis was married to Demi Moore from 1987 until 2000. He got married to model Emma Heming in 2009. He has five girls now. Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah are from his first marriage to Demi. Mabel and Evelyn are from his marriage to Emma.

Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore, his current wife Emma, and their children recently posted a statement on social media:

“To Bruce’s wonderful fans, we wanted to let you know that our dear Bruce has been having some health problems and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his ability to think. Because of this, and after giving it a lot of thought, Bruce is leaving the job that has meant so much to him.”

What exactly is aphasia?

Aphasia is a language disorder that makes it hard for people to interact through words. It is most common in older adults. People with this disorder make mistakes, like choosing the wrong words, putting them together wrongly, or not understanding them.

84.5 percent of people have never heard of aphasia, and studies show that more than 75% of people with this condition don’t go back to work.

The last few years Bruce Willis worked

Bruce Willis has been working hard for the past few years. Just last year, he was in eight films. Even though two films have already come out this year, there are still eight in post-production that we can’t wait to see. We wish Bruce a happy retirement and a lot of happiness as he gets older.

We hope that his path to healing will be strong and free of problems, and we will always be grateful for what he has done.

Which of Bruce Willis’s parts will you always remember? What do you think is the right age to stop working? Do you have a story about Bruce that you’d like to tell everyone?
