They’ve just been announced as the 2021 World Nature Photography Awards (WNPA) winners.
Amos Nachoum, from the United States, won the top prize and $1,000 cash prize for his image of a leopard seal preparing to snatch a defenseless Gentoo penguin.
It was a long wait for Nachoum as he stood on Plano Island, off the Antarctic Peninsula, hoping the seals would enter a lagoon at low tide and begin searching for their prey.
Images of our planet’s natural beauty have been seen by all 14 categories.
Nature photography is being used to highlight the beauty and wonder of the natural world, encouraging people to take action now to ensure the survival of our planet for future generations. As a result, it’s impossible to disagree with the judges’ picks.
