While going out in public for the first time in 21 years, Gene Hackman, 94, grabs his wife Betsy’s hand.

Following twenty years of staying out of the public eye, Hollywood star Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were seen together in public for the first time in 21 years.

The 94-year-old Superman star and his 62-year-old wife Betsy were seen having an early dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Thursday. They added a bit of Hollywood glitz to the casual dining scene.

The couple looked happy during their trip and as they left the restaurant after their meal that they had eaten.

The famous Oscar winner wore a warm grey fleece coat with a stylish plaid button-down shirt. His wife, on the other hand, was caught wearing a bright paisley-print shirt in a Western style, pants, and stylish brown suede boots.

Betsy helped her husband up with a gentle arm and a smile, and the two of them exuded class and love.

Online fans were glad to see the star out and about with his wife.

“Gene Hackman brought a lot of great skills to our screens.” His facial reactions are just right for the situation. It’s good to see he’s still there. “Ageing with grace too,” someone wrote on social media.

“Gene, go get them. “Great to see you out and about,” said one, and “94??” added another. Goodness didn’t know. What a skilled man!”

“Wow! Another person wrote, “He looks great at 94 and lives a simple life with his wife.”

Many people think Gene was one of the best actors of his time, but he also said that acting was stressful and that he planned to quit in 2008 after four years of not acting.

Gene Hackman has said in the past that acting, which he did for about 60 years, was “very stressful” for him.

“I haven’t held a press conference to say I’m retiring yet, but I will not be acting anymore.” “For the past few years, people have told me not to say that in case a really great part comes up, but I really don’t want to do it anymore,” the star from “French Connection” told Reuters at the time.

Gene said, “Yes, I do” when asked if he missed it. Being an actress was what I did for almost 60 years and I loved it. I miss that part of it. But the job stresses me out a lot. In movies, you have to make sacrifices all the time, and I just didn’t want to do it anymore.
