You are currently viewing Joan MacDonald is known for having a very badass motto: “You can’t turn the clock back, but you can wind it up again!”

The seventy-year-old woman from Ontario, Canada, who stood five feet and three inches tall and weighed 198 pounds, dared to hit the rewind button after spending her entire life battling her weight and being dependent on medication to address her high blood pressure, acid reflux, and cholesterol.

Let’s jump ahead in time three years: The 76-year-old man, who has lost more than 50 pounds and is now an iron-pumping influencer, has more than 500,000 followers on Instagram.

She is better known as @TrainwithJoan to the more than half a million people all over the world who follow her on Twitter. When this boxer with silver hair isn’t cranking out reps, popping squats, and pushing free weights, she’s posting fitness tips and video instructions on her website.

Joan attributes her physical change, in which she no longer needs medication and has lost 55 pounds, to the fact that her daughter Michelle was her gym buddy and that she ate a diet that was nutritionally sound. In addition to that, she utilized dietary supplements such as amino acids and protein powder.

She shared with Jam Press that “three years ago, I began this long, slow journey” and that she has now come to the conclusion that “there isn’t any end to it.” Every day I make decisions that lead me in a certain way, and every month marks a new significant achievement for me. Every year, it seems like I’ve progressed to the point where I can’t possibly change any further; and yet, I do.

There are, without a doubt, some difficulties, and ageing bodies require special consideration to prevent harm. However, it is too late to stop her at this point.
