The bond between a mother and her child is unfathomable. We have a tendency to believe that this type of bond exists only between humans. However, when you see this touching bond between a mother leopard and her cub, you’ll realize that animals often have a better understanding of love than we do.
When photographer Leighton Lum was on an expedition in Kenya, he was able to capture these images. The mother and her cub were sleeping next to each other when this wildlife photographer arrived.
The cub awoke in a matter of seconds, and all Leighton could see from that point forward was the mother’s love for her cub. Between them, there was nothing but love and cuddling. Even though the cub awoke the mother at one point, she was unfazed. She instead smiled and hugged her child.
Eventually, he came close to our car, and the mother followed. They sat down about 50 feet away from the vehicle and began to play. It was fantastic. Lum clarified
The photographer said, “I really enjoyed watching this tender moment between mother and cub.” “It’s not a common occurrence, and it’s very rare to see them like this out in the open and up close.”
