Street names like “This Street,” “That Street,” and “The Other Street” appear to indicate that the small town has ran out of creative ideas.

But when it comes to peculiar yet amusing street names, Porters Lake is hardly the only community. One such is the “Road to Nowhere,” which leads through the tiny Nunavut province town of Iqaluit.
A colourful collection of town names, such as Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Stoner, Blow Me Down, Cow Head, Asbestos, Eyebrow, Dead Man’s Flats, and Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, is another promotion from Canada.
