A royal expert shares a sad fact about Kate Middleton and Camilla’s friendship.
Even though it’s only been a few months since the beginning of the year, there are already many signs that it will be a rough one for the royal family. Statistics show that between January and February of this year, the 11 working royals had about 32% fewer royal engagements than they did during the same time last year.
Part of the reason for this is that fewer top royals are working right now, like Catherine, Princess of Wales, and King Charles, who have both been diagnosed with cancer and are continuing their treatments.
Queen Camilla has taken on a lot of tasks during this difficult time, including ones that her husband usually does.
Queen Camilla has become a loved family member over the years. This wasn’t always the case, though. There was so much hate for her when people found out about her affair with Prince Charles at the time. People said she was scared to leave the house because she thought she might get hurt.
After all these years, Camilla is the glue that holds the family together, and her work at the Firm is greatly valued.
Like many others, Camilla has been through the anger of the public and close scrutiny. Because of who she is, she didn’t want Kate to go through the same things when she was going to marry Prince William.
That is, Camilla was said to have been very friendly with Kate from the first time they met.
When Kate Middleton became a member of the royal family, Camilla tried to get to know her. The same things were tried with Princes William and Harry, but with the Duke things didn’t go as planned. Because of his fight with the royal family, Harry doesn’t have many friends in the family.
The Daily Mail said that Camilla invited Kate, her sister Pippa, and her daughter Laura Lopes to lunch before the wedding of the now-Prince and Princess of Wales in 2011.
Someone who overheard their talk told the Daily Mail, “They were all getting along very well. They clearly hadn’t asked for an out-of-the-way table and they didn’t try to lower their voices.”When Kate asked, “What happens if William doesn’t show up?,” it was clear that she was trying to be funny.
Camilla is said to have given Kate Middleton a very special wedding gift: a bracelet with two carved “Cs” on either side of the charm. Many people think that these letters stand for “Catherine” and “Camilla.”
Yahoo reports that Kate has been seen wearing this bracelet many times, especially when she went to the Wimbledon tennis event.
There was a close friendship between Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla before she married Prince William. Kate had a lot to learn about royal life as a commoner who married into the royal family and would later become the wife of a future king. She knew that her marriage would bring big changes to her life.
Robert Lacey, who wrote the royal book Battle of Brothers, said that Kate had a hard time listening to her stepmother-in-law. Lacey wrote in Battle of Brothers, “Camilla had told Kate the secret to keeping a busy prince: plan your days, your whole life, around his.”
But, even though Kate and Camilla were and still are close, royal experts say that things got worse between them during last year’s wedding.
When King Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned, everything looked perfect at first glance. But when experts watched the footage of the famous day, something about Camilla and Kate Middleton stood out.
For Britons, tradition is everything. Some fans didn’t like that Camilla’s grandkids were given such important roles as Pages of Honour, like Prince George. It looks like Kate Middleton was one of these people.
A lot of Camilla’s family members were there, like her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, her son Tom Parker Bowles, her daughter Laura Lopes, and a few of her grandkids. Camilla’s sister Annabel Elliot was there with the Marchioness of Lansdowne, who is a friend. According to ABC royal reporter Victoria Murphy, twenty people from Camilla’s side of the family were at the Westminster Abbey. This was a big step for them.
She said, “Camilla’s family are very much front and centre at this event, which is interesting because this is a state event and they are usually very private.” The fact that Camilla’s family is so active and well known makes me think of how important she is to Charles’ reign and how this is their Coronation, not just his.”
On the other hand, Kate had four family members with her at Westminster Abbey: her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, her sister Pippa Middleton, and her brother James Middleton.
This is said to have made the Princess of Wales angry, and she wasn’t afraid to show it by “not moving a limb” as Camilla left the Abbey and everyone else bowed.
“Camilla brought twenty Parker Bowles to the coronation, and there were four Middleton’s,” royal expert Tom Bower TV told host Dan Wooton.
And what was even more obvious was that William didn’t talk about Queen Camilla at the concert in Windsor the next day. There is stress there.”
He then said that Charles was in a “dangerous position” because of the tension, especially since Queen Camilla “disappeared” from public view because Kate was “behaving like the Queen” and she was “tired.”
The royal expert said, “If you look at the Coronation footage, as the King and Queen leave the thrones and head for the exit of Westminster Abbey, you’ll see that everyone bows and curtsies to the King and no one moves a muscle when Camilla passes.”
“Because they were mad at her.” Nobody moves. William and Kate were mad too. A small group of people in the middle of Westminster Abbey, near the throne, were all filled with anger. And at that very moment, those who had been left out could see for sure that no one, not even Kate, was bowing to Queen Camilla.

Everyone who saw the coronation agreed that Camilla’s grandchildren did a great job as Pages of Honour. However, many people think that giving the Queen’s daughter’s twin sons such important roles went against British custom.
Another royal expert, Kinsey Schofield, agrees with those who say the Queen went too far from royal custom.
The bond between Kate and Camilla has only gotten stronger over the years, though.
Jennie Bond, who used to cover the royal family for BBC, thinks that this bond would have been even better if Camilla had been Charles’ first wife.
For the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Camilla and Kate stood next to each other. Bond said, “The two women looked at ease with one another; united in the solemnity of it all.” When Kate gets married for the second time, Camilla will be her only mother-in-law. It will never be the same, though.
“I think Camilla will always feel like she’s not quite a real mother-in-law to Kate, but they seem to get along well, and what’s not to like about that?” He told OK! Magazine about the royal family.
“Kate must have been very interested in Camilla’s rise from commoner to queen, and I think it must have been comforting for both of them.” It must be a very special connection, because Catherine can’t talk to anyone else who has actually played the part she will one day play.
